San Diego: The Perfect City to Pop the Question!
It is no doubt, that San Diego has some of the most breathtaking views that this state has to offer. With an average of almost 24,000 weddings a year in San Diego, a common question that many future grooms have is: Where is the best place to propose in San Diego? With so many options, this can be a difficult decision to make, but rest assured, that I have 3 of the absolute best options to ensure that your partner will be blown by the location that you choose!
#1. Sunset Cliffs
Sunset Cliffs is a great option due to it's proximity to relatively easy parking, as well as its unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. With its sheer rock cliffs that drop off to meet the water, this location is guaranteed to be a jaw dropper.
Summer time can get a little busy so parking and finding an isolated spot for the proposal can be more challenging but overall isn't usually a huge problem.
Post Proposal
After your have popped the question and everything according to plan, I would highly recommend celebrating at one of the many great restaurants in the nearby town of Ocean Beach. My top OB Restaurant reccs are: La Doña (Upscale Mexican), Wonderland Ocean Pub (Beach causal atmosphere with stunning views), and The Holding Company (Fun drinks and great views)
#2. Torrey Pines Glider Port
Number two on our list is Torrey Pines Glider Port. I love this spot for many reasons but my favorites are its proximity to parking (there is a dirt parking lot), and the paragliders flying nearby that make this location truly unique.
Nestled 200 feet above sea level, this location has extensive views and many private, secluded places to pop the question!
Post Proposal
From this location, your best options for celebratory dinner and drinks would be to head down to La Jolla Shores. If you really want to impress your new fiancé, I would recommend making a reservation at The Marine Room for some truly spectacular seaside dining. If you are looking for something more casual, then Duke's in La Jolla is also a great option. Their view is one of the best in the city and their drinks and food are top notch! (Get the Mai Tai, Trust me!)
#3. La Jolla Cove
The location pictured here is actually just south of La Jolla Cove, a little further away from the hustle and bustle and Sea Lion viewing crowd.
The scenery here is truly the epitome of California Coastal living and well known as one of the most beautiful places to propose in San Diego!
Parking at this location is relatively easy but again, can be more challenging in the Summer Time.
Post Proposal
Right after you are freshly engaged, I highly recommend sticking around to watch the sunset and soak in all of the amazingness of your engagement. The sunsets in this area are so romantic and the grass makes a great place to sit as you take it all in. A short drive (or walk) up to La Jolla Cove offers some great dining options to celebrate your new engagement.
